You asked, we listened…CloudLinux is here!

We’re pleased to announce that today we are officially launching CloudLinux as a supported Melbourne Linux distribution! All customers are now able to request CloudLinux as well as our other supported distributions; CentOS, RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux), Debian and Ubuntu!

CloudLinux is built from the same Fedora base as both CentOS and RHEL with security, stability and multi-tenancy being the primary focus. These key features make CloudLinux an ideal solution for customers looking to keep their solution secure without compromising on flexibility. Because of the distributions roots in the Red Hat family, upgrading from CentOS or migrating sideways from RHEL is simple, painless and something all of our engineers are familiar with.

CloudLinux is particularly beneficial for those who run shared hosting machines, host client websites or offer any sort of control panels for their end users to use. In fact, CloudLinux boasts full integration with more recent versions of two of the leading control panel vendors; cPanel and Plesk. All customers who choose to upgrade are immediately able to leverage features such as MySQL resource management, tenant isolation and resource management, multiple PHP versions, and more!

If you are hosting an end user whose site is causing issues for other tenants on your server, for example due to a code issue or because of an attack, you’ll be able to manage the issue by throttling the resource usage of that particular tenant. In short, you’ll be able to granularly manage and compartmentalise your environment easier than ever before.

If you’re interested in upgrading your current CentOS or RHEL server to CloudLinux, please get in touch with your account manager for availability and costing details.
