IPv6 is here! (nearly)

12 October 2011 | by Rob Greenwood

With IPv4 address exhaustion the current hot topic, there's been a lot of press coverage recently regarding IPv6 and the challenges service providers are facing bringing this next-generation technology into their networks.

Whilst a number of big companies have spoken out, revealing their long-term plans for slowly adopting IPv6, we've been busy behind the scenes not only planning, but implementing IPv6 into our core network and customer routers.

But there's still a lot of work to do!

So far, our gateway devices have been IPv6 enabled. We're therefore looking for tech-savvy volunteers to help us test our IPv6 connectivity, whilst we work on enabling IPv6 on our UltraFire Enterprise-Class Firewall Clusters.

Should you be interested in beta-testing IPv6, please open a support ticket and we'll be happy to get you going.

Happy IPv6'ing!
