Happy Birthday TechHub Manchester

TechHub Manchester logoWe can’t believe it’s been a year since TechHub Manchester first opened the doors at Carver Warehouse to the digital start-ups of the city.

TechHub Manchester is a fantastic organisation. Over the past year it has incubated over 100 companies and had 15,000 people through its doors attending its regular events to support the city’s tech start-up community.

We’ve supported it from the outset not only because web hosting underpins the digital economy but because we want to help encourage and empower the tech entrepreneurs of today by passing on our experience to the stars of tomorrow.

To celebrate its 1st birthday TechHub has today announced a new initiative called TechHub University. This is a programme designed to give early-stage technology companies the knowledge they need to succeed in the fiercely competitive international market.

For eight weeks starting in January 2014, TechHub members will be able to attend free half-day sessions on the essentials of start-up success. Those taking part will learn from experts in fields such as law, product development and marketing. When the programme finishes, a Demo Day will take place. This will see top European investors and industry commentators coming to Manchester to view the innovation and talent on offer.

TechHub University is a great initiative and we’ll be working alongside delivering our monthly teach-ins at the Dale Street offices.

Don’t forget if you have a great tech start-up idea you can join us this Friday with TechHub for Startup Weekend. Last year 55 people took part over the course of 54 hours and eight start-ups were formed. We can’t wait to meet this year’s participants.

We’re chuffed to be collaborating and sharing our knowledge in order to inspire the finest tech talent. Happy Birthday from everyone at Melbourne to all at TechHub Manchester!
