New Transit Provider
September 2007
Melbourne has signed a contract for a further internet transit provider. From December we will have a gigabit port with Tier-1 provider Cogent. This is in addition to our existing connections: Level(3), KPN, Avensys, Internet Connections and MaNAP peering. The additional transit will give us additional resilience and increased speed to certain destinations.
Office Move
August 2007
On week commencing 20th August, we will be moving to new offices to enable us to serve our customers in a more efficient manner. During this period, access to technical support may be limited as our phone lines may be distrupted, as follows:
Monday 20th
Support staffing level will be lower than usual so you may have to queue if you call for telephone support.
Tuesday 21st
Minimal support coverage will be available, with only high and emergency priority requests being dealt with. New orders will not be processed on this day.
Wednesday 22nd
Our support phone lines are being moved, so there will be periods when our normal contact numbers are unavailable. We have set up a temporary number, 0161 333 4554, which will route to our emergency support line, enabling you to contact our support staff by phone should you have an emergency issue.
Please note that no servers will be affected by this move. One or more technicians will be "on-call" throughout the entire period, responding to tickets etc. Out-of-hours support coverage will be as usual.
Firewall Migration Complete
July 2007
We're pleased to announce that all servers have now been moved to our unique UltraFire™ enterprise-class firewall system. In simple terms this means customers using our firewall service, now have full control of their rules through a web-based interface.
Unlike many other providers, we do not charge extra for this service when added to our dedicated servers.
And because our firewalls are configured in failover pairs, you can be assured that even if hardware failure does occur, your sites will not go down.

- Restore access to your machine if you firewall yourself out of it
- Mount ISO CD/DVD or floppy disk images.
- Easy access from any Java compatible browser.
KVM over IP is available for just £9 per machine per month, on both dedicated servers and colocation.
Reynolds House facility nearing capacity
June 2007
Just nine months after the opening of our Reynolds House facility, we have reserved space to 90% of the total capacity of the facility. Melbourne are now in negotiations for additional space to support our rapid expansion.
We have been overwhelmed by the positive feedback about the way the facility is run, which has led to significant amounts of customer recommendations, fueling the demand for our space.
Customers needing additional space are advised to act quickly to avoid disappointment.
