ABOUT MELBOURNE.

Find out about Melbourne, one of Manchester's leading providers of hosting services. Find out why we bring total peace of mind to our customers, by delivering reliable and predictable service.

Windows Expert Technician

Melbourne is on the lookout for an expert Windows technician to join our growing team.

Working for Melbourne

Melbourne people are quite different to your average Joe. They're passionate, friendly, forward-thinking and love their jobs.

Melbourne is a unique place to work. It's not like a work-place, it's more like a big, friendly (but sometimes quite strange) family. Our staff love their job. That doesn't mean it's easy-going; we expect a lot. But we give a lot back in return.

About the Role

You'd be the one ultimately responsible for our Windows Managed Hosting customers. This involves looking after customers but also imparting your knowledge to other members of the support team.

The position of Support Technician would involve working on our 8am - 6pm 'office support hours' (35 hours per week) and will also involve on-call duty.

Job Responsibilities

  • Taking technical support calls by e-mail or telephone and seeing these through to appropriate resolution (or escalation as appropriate).
  • Designing and maintinaing Windows-based hosting platform solutions for our customer
  • Maintaining Melbourne's internal Windows server estate
  • Training other members of our technical team on Microsoft technologies.

Experience Required

Rather than specific academic qualifications, we're more interested in working with people who share our passion for providing the highest levels of service and support to our customers, so a proactive attitude and a passion for technology is a must.

For this position, however, the candidate would be expected to hold active, current Microsoft certifications on Windows, SQL Server and Exchange.

The candidate must have at least 5 years experience with the planning and implementation of Microsoft technologies in a business environment.

Experience within an ISP/Managed Hosting environment would be extremely beneficial, but is not necessary.

Location

You will work from our Hulme, Manchester-based office.

Remuneration

Basic: up to £35k (negotiable).
